Albanian visa applications — both paper applications at a consulate and the e-visa submitted through the e-Albania portal — use a portrait photo of 36 mm wide and 47 mm high. This is larger than the common 35×45 mm passport format, so a standard passport print from a pharmacy or photo booth usually has the wrong proportions and needs to be redone.
For the e-visa you upload a digital file, so what matters is the crop and the background — the portal will reject a photo where the head is too small or the background is grey or patterned. For a consulate submission you need a print; our file is prepared at 600 dpi, so it prints sharply at exactly 36×47 mm.
